DHI Hair Transplant

Hair Transplant

During the DHI hair transplant, hair follicles are collected and transplanted with the Choi Implanter.

DHI hair transplantation means Direct Hair Implantation. With this method, hair follicles are taken one by one from the donor area. Then they are immediately implanted into the bald areas.

The difference with the FUE technique is that in the DHI technique, the hair follicles or grafts are both removed and directly reimplanted using the Choi Implanter, an instrument specially made for this purpose.

The Choi Implanter is a small device that looks like a pen. It has a hollow needle inside. This is used to make a tiny incision in the scalp and simultaneously insert the hair follicle.
With this technique, no canals need to be opened beforehand. This reduces the risk of damaging the follicles. The survival rate of the transplanted hair also improves.

One of the main advantages of DHI hair transplantation is that, compared to traditional FUE hair transplantation, a higher hair density can be achieved in a single session. This is because the hair follicles can be implanted closer together, which can result in a fuller and more natural looking head of hair.

DHI hair transplantation is usually performed under local anesthesia and can be completed in a single day. Usually, you can see the final result after about 6–12 months.

The DHI hair transplant method is best suited for patients who want to thicken their hair. If the hair follicles are to be placed in larger bald areas, the FUE method is usually preferred.
